Treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, COVID-19 PCR testing will be provided seven days a week
LOWELL, MI — WellNow Urgent Care, one of the country’s fastest-growing urgent care providers, announced that it will open the doors to its newest center in Lowell on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Located at 11921 Fulton Street, Lowell, MI 49331, the new facility offers timely treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses, COVID-19 PCR testing, and occupational medicine services seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patients can simply walk in or, if preferred, schedule a visit online.
“Injuries and illnesses show up at the most inconvenient times, including evenings and weekends,” said John Radford, M.D., President at WellNow Urgent Care. “Whether you have a sick child on a Sunday or the sudden need for a COVID-19 PCR test with 24-hour results, we’re proud to be a trusted destination to provide the care that patients need, when they need it, rather than sitting for hours in an emergency room or delaying care.”
Urgent care centers are an increasingly important part of the U.S. healthcare marketplace, providing patients with much-needed access to quality care with shorter wait times, walk-in and same day care options, and lower costs than the traditional emergency room. The new center in Lowell will provide timely service for ailments such as sprains, burns, colds and allergies while also providing on-site X-rays, lab testing and physicals. Occupational medicine services, including Workers’ Compensation assistance, pre-employment physicals, drug and alcohol testing, respirator fit exams and more, are also available on a walk-in basis.
COVID-19 PCR testing is available at all WellNow Urgent Care locations. Currently, 90 percent of COVID-19 PCR tests return results within 24 hours, and the remaining results return within 48 hours. Patients can visit PCR-results to view daily cutoff times to receive their results within 24 hours. Additional information about COVID-19 testing at WellNow, including testing cost and insurance coverage, can be found at COVID-19.
Patients who prefer to speak with a WellNow provider virtually, either from the comfort of home or on-the-go, can access the company’s Virtual Care platform seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. from their personal computer, tablet or smartphone. WellNow accepts most insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, Fidelis and Veterans Affairs TriWest. A full list of locations and services can be found at WellNow.com.
The Lowell center is WellNow’s eleventh location in Michigan. Other centers in the state include Battle Creek, Benton Harbor, Fenton, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Monroe, Plainwell, Port Huron, and Portage. A full list of WellNow centers can be found at WellNow.com/location-search/.
